The conditions for the emergence of the formulation are:
- A place immune to all pressures and influences
- The presence of others, not as spectators but as playmates
- The presence of the so-called ‘servant’, not as a reference but in his role as provider of all necessary materials
Formulation is in fact something that each of us organically experiences as a toddler. It never disappears, just needs to be rediscovered and tapped into. This playful way of creating something has a unique repertoire of rules and images, it is a continuous process which never derives into art.
